My fourth and last of a series of drawings about the human body and biochemistry.
This will also be my last complex drawing for a long time. I want to focus more on painting since I enjoy working with colours and on a larger scale. Anyway, I am going to stay with the biochemical theme.

This one shows how different cells work together to form a multicellular organism. I've chosen to illustrate the cells as gearwheels. I really like gearwheels (I also wear a skeleton watch because I can see its tiny gearwheels) and I also think it fits to multiple cells working together and signaling one another.
Enzyme Nr.3 was more focused on the organelles while this work emphasizes more the cell membrane and membrane proteins (the cogs of the gearwheels).

Sometimes it was really a pain trying not to repeat the same patterns again and again on the membrane proteins
And from time to time I really thought about buying a magnification glass
